Aeri de Montserrat live cams

The cable car that has climbed from the river Llobregat to the monastery of Montserrat since 1930, with a webcam at its lower station.

The Aeri de Montserrat is the cable car that links the valley of the river Llobregat with the monastery of Montserrat, north-west of Barcelona. It is run by the company that was founded in 1928 to build it, Funicular Aeri de Montserrat, and it opened to the public on 17 May 1930. The machinery was designed and built by Bleichert, a German firm from Leipzig that specialised in cable cars. Its two cabins, each for 32 people, cover 1,350 m and climb 544 m in about five minutes.

The lower station stands beside the Aeri de Montserrat stop on the FGC railway from Barcelona's Plaça d'Espanya, and by the C-55 road, where there is a car park. The company publishes one webcam on its website: a still image taken at the lower station, looking along the cables to the cliffs of the mountain, with the date and time printed on it.

On this site it appears on the Montserrat page, credited to the Aeri de Montserrat with a link to its website.
