Airport webcams in Spain

The runways at Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Tenerife North, live: the planes landing and taking off, and the weather at the airport right now.

Why watch an airport

An airport camera answers practical questions as well as being good to watch. Before flying out you can see the weather you are about to land in; on the day someone is coming home you can watch for their plane; and for anyone who likes aircraft, the Canary Islands are one of the busiest holiday destinations in Europe, so the runways see a steady stream of flights from the UK and Ireland, busiest in the winter months.

The airports with cameras

The cameras on this page are streamed live on YouTube by webcam channels based in the islands. Lanzarote has two: one high above the airfield, looking along the runway towards the sea, and one closer to the landing aircraft. Fuerteventura's camera looks down the runway between the coast and the plain of El Matorral. Tenerife North, also called Los Rodeos, sits high above La Laguna in the north of the island and handles mostly flights to mainland Spain and the other islands.

What is not here

Most flights from the UK to Tenerife land at Tenerife South, and many holidays start at Málaga, Alicante, Palma or Gran Canaria. None of those airports has a live camera that can be shown here at the moment; we will add them as soon as one is available.

Time and weather

The Canary Islands are on the same time as the UK and Ireland all year round, so a time on the screen there is the same as the time at home. The trade wind blows from the north-east for most of the year, and planes take off and land into it, which is why the direction of traffic on the cameras is usually the same.
