City webcams in Spain

A city camera answers different questions from a beach camera. Is it raining over the cathedral? How busy are the streets tonight? Is there snow on the mountains behind the Alhambra? This page gathers the Spanish cities on this site, inland and on the coast, so you can check the weather and the mood of a city break before you go, or from the hotel before you head out.

Madrid and the inland cities

Madrid is seen through the city council's own cameras: the Gran Vía, Callao, Cibeles, Plaza de Colón and the Almudena Cathedral above the river. In Andalusia, Seville's camera looks over the gardens to the Giralda, with the temperature on screen, and Granada's looks across from the Albaicín to the Alhambra and the peaks of Sierra Nevada. Salamanca's shows the golden towers of its cathedrals and the Clerecía over the rooftops of the old town. Girona's looks across the river to its cathedral and the spire of Sant Feliu, and Cuenca's shows the Plaza Mayor below the cathedral.

Cities by the sea

On the Mediterranean, Barcelona is seen from high above the Port Olímpic, looking over Barceloneta to Montjuïc; Valencia from above its City Hall square, the stage of the Fallas; Alicante from its rooftops under the castle of Santa Bárbara; Castellón from its harbour at El Grau; Tarragona from above its old town, with the cathedral and the sea beyond; Málaga along its seafront; and Palma from the marina, with the cathedral across the water. In the north, Bilbao looks down its estuary beside San Mamés, and San Sebastián, Santander, Gijón, A Coruña and Vigo each show a city on its own beach or bay.

Part of the city's own page

Each city keeps its cameras on its own page, with its weather and forecast, in the section for its coast or for inland Spain. This page simply brings the cities together. Mainland Spain is one hour ahead of the UK and Ireland, and city cameras are at their liveliest in the evening, when Spaniards go out much later than most visitors expect.
