Agaete.net live cams

Agaete.net is a local website about Agaete, the town in the north-west of Gran Canaria whose harbour, Puerto de las Nieves, links the island with Tenerife by ferry. It works as a business and tourist directory for the town, and it also runs a small network of webcams that it streams live on its own pages, with its name printed along the bottom of the picture.

Its website lists five cameras: the harbour of Puerto de las Nieves, the beach of Las Nieves, the mountains above the town and two views of the valley of Agaete, at Los Berrazales and La Asomadita. Three of them appear on this site, on the Agaete page: the beach with the cliffs of the west coast behind it, the harbour with the ferry quay, and the mountains seen from a rooftop in the town.

They are live video streams, played here straight from Agaete.net's own server only when you press play. Two of the same cameras are also shared on Windy, which keeps a time-lapse of the last 24 hours; on this site those time-lapses follow the live view of the same camera. Because they look at the cliffs and the sky as much as at the sea, they are a handy way to see whether the north-west of the island is sunny or under cloud.
