Canarian Surf Fruit live cams
A surf and lifestyle shop on the seafront of El Médano, Tenerife, with a live webcam over the beach and the bay.
Canarian Surf Fruit is a surf and lifestyle shop on the Paseo Mercedes de Roja, the seafront promenade of El Médano, in the south-east of Tenerife. Its own history goes back to the early 1980s, when El Médano, then a quiet fishing village, was being discovered by windsurfers from Germany, and the shop has been part of the town's surf scene ever since, selling boards, clothing and accessories.
From the shop the owners stream a live webcam over the beach, through the ipcamlive service, with the shop's name, the town and the date and time on the picture. The view runs across the wide sand in front of the promenade to the bay and along the shore towards Montaña Roja, the red volcanic cone at the southern end of the beach.
The shop presents the camera as a way to watch the waves and the weather before heading down, and that is exactly how windsurfers, kitesurfers and beachgoers use it: to see whether the wind has filled in, how much swell is running into the bay and how busy the sand is.
