Meteoweb live cams
An independent weather website for Laredo and Vitoria-Gasteiz, with its own stations and a live camera on La Salvé beach.
Meteoweb is an independent weather website devoted to two places: Laredo, on the coast of Cantabria, and Vitoria-Gasteiz, inland in the Basque Country. It publishes live weather data from three Davis weather stations, with temperature, pressure, wind and rainfall, together with short-range forecasts for both places, longer-range model forecasts and its own webcams.
Its Laredo camera looks over La Salvé beach and the bay of Santoña, and Meteoweb describes it as a way to judge the state of the sea both inside the sheltered bay and outside it, towards El Puntal, where windsurfers and kitesurfers gather. The live picture carries a panel with the temperature, the wind and the rainfall measured by the website's own station, which makes it a small weather station you can watch.
Its Vitoria-Gasteiz camera stands on a rooftop in the north of the city, about 525 m above sea level, and looks over the plain of Álava to the mountains of Gorbea. Meteoweb chose the view because the most active weather fronts reach the city from the north, so the camera shows them arriving.
Both streams are broadcast on YouTube through the channel of Wolkam, a company that streams webcams from many places in Spain. On this site they appear on the Laredo and Vitoria-Gasteiz pages, credited to Meteoweb with a link to its webcam page for each place. Because they depend on a private enthusiast's equipment, the cameras may occasionally be offline or change their framing.
