Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria live cams
Santander's theatre and concert hall on the bay, with two live cameras over the marina and across to El Puntal.
The Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria is Santander's main theatre and concert hall, a large building of marble and copper standing right on the edge of the bay. It was designed by the Navarrese architect Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza and opened in the early 1990s to give a permanent home to the Santander International Festival, which had been held since 1952 in the arcaded Plaza Porticada. Today it runs a year-round programme of theatre, music, dance and cinema, and also hosts congresses.
Its position on the waterfront gives it one of the best viewpoints in the city, and the Palacio publishes two live cameras on its website. One looks west over the yachts of Puertochico and the seafront towards the city centre; the other looks south-east across the bay to El Puntal, the great spit of sand and dunes opposite the city. Both stream live video through ipcamlive, a service used by many public institutions in Spain.
On this site both cameras appear on the Santander page, credited to the Palacio de Festivales with a link to its webcam page.
