Red Star Surf live cams

Red Star Surf is a surf school and surf camp in Caleta de Famara, the village at the southern end of Playa de Famara on the north-west coast of Lanzarote. It sits by the beach on Avenida El Marinero and offers surf lessons for beginners, improvers and children, kitesurfing lessons, board and wetsuit rental, a surf shop and accommodation in surf houses in the village.

The school runs a live webcam over the beach, which it describes as a way to check the surf and kite conditions remotely and so save unnecessary trips. The camera moves on a 30-second rhythm, sweeping the bay from the western tip of the beach, at Caleta de Famara, to the eastern end under the cliffs of El Risco, with La Graciosa visible offshore. The video is streamed through Camsecure, a webcam hosting service, and this site plays it directly with the browser's own controls, so you can pause it or turn on the sound.
