9 Pies Surf School live cams

9 Pies, "nine feet" in Spanish, is a surf school and surf camp at El Palmar de Vejer, the long Atlantic beach in the province of Cádiz that is the best-known surf spot on the Costa de la Luz. From its base right in front of the beach it runs surf lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers and for children, board hire, paddle surf and bodyboard, and week-long surf camps in every season of the year, with its website in Spanish, English and German.

The school installed its webcam so that surfers can check the sea before they set off. The camera looks straight out from the school over the dunes and the sand to the surf zone of El Palmar, where you can see the size and shape of the waves, the rock ledges that appear at low tide and how many people are already in the water. As the school itself points out, a picture alone does not tell you the period or direction of the swell, which is why it publishes a surf forecast for El Palmar next to it.
