SurfCam.io live cams

A Cantabrian surf webcam project with live cameras on Loredo beach, looking to Somo and across the bay to Santander.

SurfCam.io is a small Cantabrian webcam project built around the surf beaches on the eastern side of Santander Bay. Its website presents itself as the webcam of Somo and Loredo, and its cameras stand on the beach at Loredo, in the municipality of Ribamontán al Mar, from where they look west along the sand to Somo and across the mouth of the bay to the city of Santander.

The streams are broadcast live on YouTube through the channel of Tend Networks, which also carries other Cantabrian cameras, among them the beaches of Liencres and the valley of Toranzo, and links to a local weather page for Loredo. Two of the Loredo views appear on this site: a wide shot of the beach with Santander on the horizon, and a zoomed view of the city with the lighthouse island of Mouro and the waves breaking on the shore.

The cameras are made for surfers, so they are framed to show the size and shape of the waves, the tide and the wind on the water. The same views also reach Windy, which keeps a 24-hour time-lapse of each; on this site the live stream comes first and the time-lapse behind it, credited to their owner.
