Vélez-Málaga Town Council live cams

The town council of Vélez-Málaga, whose live camera on the Torre del Mar promenade looks east along the beach to the Axarquía mountains.

Vélez-Málaga is the capital of the Axarquía, the hilly eastern part of Málaga province. Its town council, based in the historic centre of Vélez-Málaga a few miles inland, is responsible for a long stretch of coast that includes the resort of Torre del Mar and the fishing harbour of Caleta de Vélez.

The camera on the promenade of Torre del Mar belongs to the council, according to Andalucía Live, a website that gathers webcams from across Andalusia and states that this one is not part of its own network but the council's. The stream is delivered through ipcamlive and can be embedded on other websites. It looks east along the paseo and the beach towards Algarrobo and Torrox, with the mountains of the Sierra de Tejeda and Almijara behind.

The same view is published on Windy, which keeps a 24-hour time-lapse of it; on this site the live stream comes first and the time-lapse follows. Together they show the state of the beach, the sea and the sky over this part of the Costa del Sol, which is a useful check before driving out from Málaga for the day.
