La Costa de Cádiz live cams
A local website about the Atlantic coast of Cádiz that runs live beach webcams, from El Puerto de Santa María to Barbate, on its YouTube channel.
La Costa de Cádiz is a local website about the Atlantic coast of the province of Cádiz, in Andalusia, written in Spanish. It covers the beaches, the white towns and their heritage, events, tide times and the weather, and gives special attention to the food of the coast and to the almadraba, the ancient way of catching bluefin tuna with fixed nets that still shapes towns such as Conil, Barbate and Zahara de los Atunes.
Alongside its articles, it runs a network of beach webcams along the coast, from El Puerto de Santa María down to Barbate, and streams most of them live on its YouTube channel. Several appear on this site: La Fontanilla beach in Conil de la Frontera; the beach of El Palmar near Vejer; Playa del Carmen in Barbate; La Barrosa beach, the mouth of the Sancti Petri channel and the Salina Santa Teresa salt pan in Chiclana; and Fuentebravía and Las Redes in El Puerto de Santa María. Many are set up with local businesses that collaborate with the website, such as a hostel on La Barrosa, a beach bar at Fuentebravía and a water-sports company at Sancti Petri, whose names appear on the image.
Each YouTube stream is embedded from the channel with embedding allowed by its owner, and loads only when you press play; the Las Redes camera plays through an ipcamlive player instead. The cameras run continuously, and the YouTube streams print the place name and a date and time on the image. Like any live camera, a stream can drop out for a while or be replaced by a new broadcast; when that happens this site picks up the channel's current stream for that beach.
