What you can see on the Boí Taüll webcams

A live panoramic camera at Pla de Vaques, the base of the resort at about 2,000 m (6,560 ft), pans across the lift stations, a long covered conveyor belt for beginners and the terrace in front of the buildings, and its last 24 hours can be replayed as a time-lapse. Two still cameras look over the same base from other angles, with the fences and lifts climbing to the summits. A camera higher up, at about 2,270 m (7,450 ft), looks down across the pistes and a small lake to the valley and a skyline of jagged peaks. In winter they show the snow, the lifts and the people; in summer, high pastures and bare rock.

Boí Taüll webcam at Pla de Vaques, 2,000 m

This feratel camera stands at Pla de Vaques, the base area of Boí Taüll at about 2,000 m (6,560 ft), and pans across it in each clip. It starts on a chairlift station, follows a long covered conveyor belt that carries beginners up the slope, swings past more lift stations along the fences and finishes on the terrace in front of the buildings.

It shows the lower slopes of the resort with movement and detail that a still photo cannot give: whether the lifts are turning, how many people are about and how the light changes. In the morning the first part of the clip faces into the sun. A 24-hour time-lapse of the same view follows further down.

The Vall de Mulleres from Boí Taüll

This camera of the Projecte 4 Estacions, published on Windy, looks out from Cap de Mulleres, high on Boí Taüll at about 2,270 m (7,450 ft), across the pistes, the buildings of the base and a small lake far below to the valley and the high, jagged peaks on the far side.

It is the camera for the big view of the resort and the surrounding mountains, and for seeing where the cloud and the snowline are. It plays here as a Windy time-lapse of the day.

Boí Taüll at 2,030 m, with the weather

This 3Cat weather camera, at 2,030 m (6,660 ft) at the base of Boí Taüll, looks up a lift line and the slopes of Pla de Vaques, with the fences that catch the snow, red-and-white barriers and the ridges of the Vall de Mulleres on the skyline.

3Cat shows the temperature, humidity and wind beside each photo, so this is the one to check for conditions at the base. It is a still photo, not a video.

Boí Taüll's Junior chairlift, at the base

This still FGC camera looks out from a building at Pla de Vaques, the base of Boí Taüll, over the Junior chairlift, the beginners' covered conveyor belt and the fenced slopes rising to a summit. The edge of the roof and a terrace fill the foreground.

It shows the nursery slopes and the snow at the bottom of the resort. In the morning it faces into the sun. It is a still photo, not a video: the reload button brings the latest one.

The highest slopes in Catalonia

The resort opened in the 1988–89 season. Its base at Pla de Vaques is at about 2,020 m (6,630 ft), and its lifts climb to about 2,750 m (9,020 ft), the highest skiable point in the Catalan Pyrenees. The slopes face north, which helps the snow keep its quality, and from the top there are views over the Pallars Jussà and towards Port Ainé. The resort is run by FGC, the Catalan government railway company.

When to watch Boí Taüll

Spain is one hour ahead of the UK and Ireland. The ski season usually runs from December to Easter. The base cameras face the morning sun, so late morning gives the clearest pictures; the higher camera shows where the cloud is sitting on the peaks.

Around Boí Taüll

Below the resort lies the Vall de Boí, with nine Romanesque churches that together form a UNESCO World Heritage Site, among them Sant Climent de Taüll: see our Vall de Boí webcams. The Aigüestortes national park begins at the head of the neighbouring valley, and the hot springs of Caldes de Boí are nearby.

Getting to Boí Taüll

The nearest airport with flights from the UK and Ireland is Toulouse, about 145 miles (235 km) away by road; Barcelona is about 190 miles (305 km). Both drives take three and a half to four and a half hours, the last part up a mountain road from Taüll: in winter, carry snow chains.
